A Little Bee
May 15, 2008May 15, 2008 Add comment1 comments Nature Poetry Nature Poetry

A little Bee sat on my knee
and yet it didn't sting
Instead it played to me a tune
to which I now could sing

Across my foot there marched an Ant
and with its plodding beat
it set the timing for the tune
the Bee and I did keep

Upon my head perched a bird
to see what we had done
Its merry high pitch chirping sound
adding to what was being sung

With all of this now going on
a thought came into mind
This beauty that is in nature
we should listen to... all the time.

I wrote this poem many years ago, and it is also posted on Your Poetry Dot Com.
